Weird fantasy and silly comedy holds hands in "The Gingerweed Man"

Charles Band is a writer, producer, director, and publisher, better known for being the director of Parasite (1982), Trancers (1984), Deformed Monsters (1997), Blood Dolls (1999), Puppet Master: The Legacy (2003), Doll Graveyard (2005), and Puppet Master: Axis Termination (2017) amongst many others, as well as producer of hundreds of horror-related products. One of the latest projects he has been involved in is the fantasy comedy The Gingerweed Man (2021).

The title character, Gingerweed Man, runs a successful dispensary delivery service, catering to a wide array of wacky clientele. But when he gets charged with protecting little Baby Buddy, a mysterious super strain weed dude that is wanted by every bad vibe in the city, mad misadventures follow.

Brooks Davis, assistant director for some of Charles Band’s titles including Evil Bong: High 5 (2016), Killjoy’s Psycho Circus (2016), Evil Bong 666 (2017), Puppet Master: Axis Termination (2017), and Blade the Iron Cross (2020), debuts as a director with The Gingerweed Man (2021). He has also been responsible for the screenplay together with Band and Kent Roudebush.

Eli Jane, Johanna Rae, Alan Maxson, Naiia Lajoie, Paige Phillips, Nihilist Gelo, and Andrea Fischer star in the film.

Full Moon Features, founded by Charles Band back in 1988, is responsible for the production and distribution of The Gingerweed Man (2021).
