When temperatures climb and swimming-suits are at the top of your clothes pile, when the hottest season of the year approaches, it is also the time of summer horror flicks. And on the last years the sharks are common protagonists of movie billboards. This year is the turn for 47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019), the sequel for successful movie 47 Meters Down (2017).

In this second movie, four teen girls diving in a ruined underwater city quickly learn they’ve entered the territory of the deadliest shark species in the claustrophobic labyrinth of submerged caves. Johannes Roberts, the director of the film, has mentioned that this new film would be similar to The Descent (2005) but with sharks. And that the Mexican waters are changed this time for Brazilian underwater caves.

With 47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019), Johannes Roberts repeats behind the cameras with a screenplay wrote by him and Ernest Riera, as they did with the first movie. This adds a new title to his already extensive enough career in horror movies including titles like Hellbreeder (2004), Darkhunters (2004), Forest of the Damned (2005), The Expelled (2010), Storage 24 (2012), The Other Side of the Door (2016) and the recent The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018).

John Corbett, Nia Long, Sophie Nelisse, Corinne Foxx, Sistine Stallone, Brianne Tju, Davi Santos, Khylin Rhambo, and Brec Bassinger star in 47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019). Filming started in December last year. It is scheduled to come out in theaters on the 16th of August. The new trailer for the movie is already out and you can watch it here:
