Velvet Buzzsaw (2019), the new movie from Nightcrawler (2014) director, Dan Gilroy, had its worldwide premiere last 27th of January under the prestigious frame of the Sundance Film Festival. It was one of the titles movie fans were waiting with more excitement, and for once the high expectations got rewarded.

Velvet Buzzsaw (2019), and it circles around a series of paintings by an unknown artist which are recently discovered, and then a supernatural force enacts revenge on those who have allowed their greed to get in the way of art. Again, a mixture of genres coming from the mind of the filmmaker who became known for being the writer of popular movies like Freejack (1992), Two for the Money (2005), Real Steel (2011), The Bourne Legacy (2012) and Kong: Skull Island (2017).

Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo, who already were part of the cast in Nightcrawler (2014), repeat at the orders of Dan Gilroy again in Velvet Buzzsaw (2019). With them, John Malkovich, Billy Magnussen, Toni Collette, Natalia Dyer, Zawe Ashton, Daveed Diggs, Tom Sturridge, Peter Gadiot, Steven Williams and Pat Healy also star. Filming took place last year in Los Angeles, California.

Popular Video on Demand service Netflix will have Velvet Buzzsaw (2019) available as part of their Netflix Originals catalog this Friday the 1st of February. So fans in the world will have the chance to enjoy the movie soon. In the meantime, you can watch here the official trailer:
