Walking Against the Rain (2022) is a survival horror thriller set in a post-apocalyptic world that deals with concepts like the desperation and solitude people can find themselves in a world that has vanished.
It tells the story of two strangers, Blair and Tommy who are navigating their way across a barren landscape in a desperate attempt to find each other. With their only form of communication being two soon-to-die battery-operated radio mics and with a new evil in the shape of ‘The Forsaken’ tracking them down, they must learn to confront loss and rediscover trust in humanity.
The is the debut feature film of the writer, producer, and director Scott Lyus, who cites as his influences big names of the genre like Wes Craven, Steven Spielberg, and Guillermo del Toro, and has been responsible for a few horror short films, including the awards-winner Black Mass (2020).
The cast in Walking Against the Rain (2022) is formed by Sophia Eleni, Reece Douglas, James Swanton, Johnny Vivash, Diane Spencer, and Francesca Louise White.
The movie is produced by Crossroad Pictures and M and M Film Productions. It was part of the film festivals FrightFest, Romford Film Festival, Panic Fest, Unrestricted View Film Festival, Nightmares Film Festival, and Birmingham Film Festival where it achieved several awards including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actress (Sophia Eleni), and a bunch of other nominations. Now, Gravitas Ventures is distributing the movie in several territories coming out on May 23, 2023.
