Smart and witty, funny but gory, that’s how we like our horror comedies. And Keeping Company (2021) promises to deliver all of those elements in a story full of social criticism and murder.
In the movie, a fateful chain of events begins to unravel after two brash insurance salesmen go knocking on the wrong door and find themselves trapped inside a serial killer’s basement, putting their lives and their jobs on the line.
This is the debut feature film of writer and director Josh Wallace, after a few short films and the comedy TV movie Funny Or Die Test Tube: Hush Money (2015). Devin Das, one of the stars of the film, is also the co-writer.
Besides Devin Das, Jacob Grodnik, who has been seen in Disturbing the Peace (2020), The Fanatic (2019), and Dear Dictator (2017), are the stars of the movie in a cast that also includes Ahmed Bharoocha, Gillian Vigman, Bernard White, Andy Buckley, Suzanne Savoy, Rex Lee, Medina Senghore, William Russ, and Mary Holland.
Keeping Company (2021) has had an extensive festivals run along 2021 that included Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, Salem Horror Fest, Tallgrass Film Festival, South African Horrorfest, Molins Film Festival, Splat!FilmFest Horror Film Festival, and Monster Fest. It was also nominated for Best Film at Fantaspoa International Fantastic Film Festival, and won several awards at FilmQuest, GenreBlast Film Festival, Grimmfest International Festival of Fantastic Film, Panic Fest, and San Francisco Independent Film Festival, including Best Feature, Best Director, Best Actors, and Best Screenplay.
