The action in The Asylum’s Ape vs. Mecha Ape (2023) seems like a homage to those Japanese early Godzilla sagas where gigantic monsters were fighting in the middle of a city destroying buildings, trains, and everything they found on their way.
In the movie, recognizing the destructive power of its captive giant Ape, the military makes its own battle-ready A.I., Mecha Ape but its first practical test goes horribly wrong, leaving the military no choice but to release the imprisoned giant ape to stop the colossal robot before it destroys downtown Chicago.
Marc Gottlieb, who has been the author of many screenplays for The Asyum mockbusters like, Alien Convergence (2017), Triassic World (2018), Fast and Fierce: Death Race (2020), Aquarium of the Dead (2021), Jungle Run (2021), Top Gunner: Danger Zone (2022), Time Pirates (2022), Super Volcano (2022), 20.0 Megaquake (2022), and 2025 Armageddon (2022), debuts as the director of a title for the company.
This time, the movies star who has seen better moments in their career leading the main cast is Tom Arnold. Xander Bailey, Sady Diallo, Jack Pearson, Anna Telfer, Maureen Kedes, Eugenia Kuzmina, Lisa Lee, Corbin Timbrook, and Lindsey Marie Wilson also star.
