After being the author of one of the most spectacular superheroes film trilogy of the entire time with his Batman’s Dark Knight movies, and delivering two of the most spectacular science-fiction titles of the recent decades with Inception (2010) and Interstellar (2014), London-born filmmaker Christopher Nolan seems to have found a comfortable spot in action films surrounded by war themes. With his latest film to date Dunkirk (2017), was set in a fierce battle in World War II, his upcoming title Tenet (2020) centers a secret agent is tasked with preventing World War III.

The secrecy surrounding the plot of Tenet (2020) is finally getting deluded. According to the official plot shared by Warner Bros. Pictures, armed with only one word — Tenet — and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real-time.

Tenet (2020) has been written by director Christopher Nolan, who also is the producer of the film via his own company Syncopy. The main cast is formed by John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Fiona Dourif, Clémence Poésy, Kenneth Branagh, Michael Caine, Himesh Patel, Yuri Kolokolnikov, and Dimple Kapadia.

Principal photography for Tenet (2020) took place in Denmark, Estonia, India, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, and the United States, starting in May 2019. It is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2020. This is the fifth time a Christopher Nolan film is to be released on the third weekend of July, which Deadline Hollywood called “a lucky date for Nolan“.
