Writer, director, producer, editor and occasional actor Ron Bonk has been a hard worker in horror Z-movies since the late 1990s. Better known for the hardcore trash audiences for Night of Something Strange (2016), Clay (2007) or the pretty cool She Kills (2016), this summer he is going to release his latest film as writer and director, House Shark (2018). With the headline “It’s JAWS in a house!”, one can expect nothing but bizarre gory action filled up with comedic ridicule situations. But hey, what else do we want, right?
This movie is starred by Trey Harrison, Wes Reid, Michael Merchant, Wayne W. Johnson, Nathan Bonk, Melissa LaMartina, Jennie Russo, Samantha Varga, Edward Mastin and Brett Janeski. In it, when Frank (Trey Harrison) finds his happy home under attack by a dangerous but largely unknown breed of shark, he’s enlists the aid of the world’s only “House Shark” Expert, Zachary (Michael Merchant), and a grizzled former real estate agent, Abraham (Wes Reid), to embark on a desperate quest to destroy the beast and claim back his life.
Allegedly, a third of the budget is being destinated to the shark itself and the gore effects, which will be developed by Marcus Koch, responsible for American Guinea Pig: Bouquet of Guts and Gore (2014) and We Are Still Here (2015). That ensures big time splatter action, so fundamental to keep together a crazy quest like a film of this sort is. Again, more good news for us the horror trash lovers!
