After its run in international festivals like Sitges Film Festival, Insólito Festival de Cine de Terror y Fantasía or Fantasporto where it achieved a bunch of nominations and award winnings, the movie The Head Hunter (2018) is finally getting its release next month. This horror and fantasy flick centers a medieval warrior whose gruesome collection of heads is missing only one: the monster that killed his daughter years ago, it is scheduled to open in selected theaters in the USA the 5th of April and then it will be available on Video on Demand.
The Head Hunter (2018) is the latest of American filmmaker Jordan Downey, known for the gory horror comedies ThanksKilling (2009) and ThanksKilling 3 (2012), and the popular saga tribute short film Critters: Bounty Hunter (2014). Downey is also the author of the screenplay together with his frequent collaborator Kevin Stewart, who is also the cinematographer and co-producer of the movie.
In The Head Hunter (2018), a warrior travels wild expanses on horseback, pursuing the monster that murdered his daughter. His thirst for revenge is the driving force of a film constructed with very few elements, minimalistic and epic at the same time, where fantasy and horror find their more physical and gory incarnations. The movie is starred by Christopher Rygh and Cora Kaufman.
Brayne Studios and Detention Films are producing, while Vertical Entertainment is set for distribution in the USA. Here you can watch the official trailer of The Head Hunter (2018):
