Mara (2018) is a horror thriller filled with supernatural about a criminal psychologist who is assigned to the murder of a man who has seemingly been strangled in his sleep by his wife and the only witness is their eight-year-old daughter. As she digs into the mystery of an ancient demon which kills people in their sleep, she experiences the same petrifying symptoms as all previous victims and spirals through a chilling nightmare to save herself and the little girl before she dares fall asleep again.
The movie follows the leads of many other supernatural and evil spirits films and might be one title to add to the must-watch list for the lovers of the genre. It is the debut in a feature film as director of Clive Tonge after a few short films. The screenplay is authored by Jonathan Frank, who also wrote the interesting and adrenaline action thriller The Tournament (2009).
Olga Kurylenko plays the criminal psychologist chased by the evil spirit incarnated by Javier Botet. Another memorable sick creature to his already extense resumé! The rest of the main cast is formed by Mitch Eakins, Lance E. Nichols, Rosie Fellner, Mackenzie Imsand, Dandy Barrett, Craig Conway, Melissa Bolona, Kathy McGraw, Jacob Grodnik and Gia Skova.
Mara (2018) is expected to come out in the USA on the 7th of September. No other international release dates are announced yet. The official YouTube channel for ONE Media has released the first trailer and you can check it out here:
