Although it was originally expected to open last year, zombie flick Patient Zero (2018) is finally seeing the light this September. First it will have a limited American theatrical release on the 16th of September and then it will go straight to domestic video distribution.

This horror thriller is set in the aftermath of an infection outcast that turns humans into intelligent, adrenaline-fueled creatures born from a viral super-strain, where the remaining survivors are hiding underground. After being bitten, a human survivor realizes he is asymptomatic and can communicate with the infected, leading the last survivors on a hunt for Patient Zero and a cure.

Patient Zero (2018) is directed by Austrian-born filmmaker Stefan Ruzowitzky, better known for being the creator of two of the best German horror movies of the last decades, Anatomie (2000) and its sequel Anatomie 2 (2003). The screenplay is authored by Mike Le, writer of horror thrillers Amnesiac (2014) and Dark Summer (2015). The cast is led by Natalie Dormer, Matt Smith, Stanley Tucci, Clive Standen, Agyness Deyn, John Bradley, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Frederick Schmidt, Colin McFarlane, Evie Wray and James Northcote.
