After forming tandem with writer and director Jesse Holland in their two previous feature films We Go On (2016) and YellowBrickRoad (2010), as well as the segment “Listen” forming part of the horror anthology Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear (2013), filmmaker Andy Mitton has decided to face his new film project on his own. And The Witch in the Window (2018) is the name of this new movie.
In The Witch in the Window (2018), a father brings his twelve-year-old son to rural Vermont to help fix an old farmhouse. In there, they encounter the malicious spirit of Lydia, a previous owner. Their main focus is to rebuild the house, but with every repair they make the spirit is getting stronger until it turns into a real menace.
The movie, also written by Andy Mitton, premiered this summer at Fantasia Film Festival, in Canada, and this November will be part of the line-up of Night Visions International Film Festival in Finland. Arija Bareikis, Alex Draper, Charlie Tacker, Carol Stanzione and Greg Naughton form the main cast.
After its festival run, the movie will be a straight to video release. Meantime you can watch its trailer here:
