The Cured (2017) starts with an interesting and very loaded with social criticism premise bringing to the table a question that although impossible in the real world can work for debate. What would happen if after a zombie outbreak a cured was found and the infected people could be back to their human nature? Could one forget the follow humans that some days before committed the most brutal atrocities and slaughter your family and friends? Even more important, should one forget them? And what about the cured flesh eaters, might they remember the acts they did while they were nothing but wild zombies?
These questions and dilemmas are the main plot for The Cured (2017), a zombie movie that takes side more in the social matter of the thing than many other horror titles do. The movie was screened at some genre festivals last year, such as Toronto International Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, London Film Festival, Stockholm International Film Festival, Torino Film Festival or Sitges Film Festival. This title is the debut in a feature film from writer and director David Freyne. Also, works as the long length version of his own short film The First Wave (2014). Ellen Page, Peter Campion, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Sam Keeley and Stuart Graham star.
