Fans for the evil doll Chucky can be happy because its latest film Cult of Chucky (2017) is getting screenings at some prestigious genre festivals before its straight to video release. After the world premiere this past August at FrightFest, now it’s announced that the movie will be also part of the line up of Sitges Film Festival 2017.
Cult of Chucky (2017) is directed by Don Mancini, the very father of the creature, who has also been the writer of all the entries of the franchise. The shooting took place in Canada early this year and post production ended this past April. Like in all the previous Chucky movie, actor Brad Dourif voices the evil doll. With him, another already classic in the film series Jennifer Tilly reprises her role of Tiffany. The rest of the cast is completed with Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Grace Lynn Kung, Michael Therriault, Elisabeth Rosen, Zak Santiago, Summer H. Howell, Ali Tataryn, Allison Dawn Doiron and Marina Stephenson Kerr.
In this movie, Chucky returns after the events of Curse of Chucky (2013) –also directed by Don Mancini– to continue terrorizing his human daughter, Nica. Meanwhile, the killer doll has some scores to settle with his old enemies, with the help of his former bride.
