Trailer for "Baby Driver", Edgar Wright's new film

After giving us one of the most interesting science fiction titles of the last years with The World’s End (2013) Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz (2007), Shaun of the Dead (2004)) is back this year with a new film. Entitled Baby Driver, it premiered yesterday at the Southwest Film Festival in the USA, recieving all sorts of positive reviews. This time he seems to have stepped aside his trademark mix of comedy together with horror or science fiction to focus on a regular action crime thriller.

Baby Driver tells the story of a young getaway driver who finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail after being coerced into working for a crime boss. But after meeting the girl of his dreams, he is determined to leave his outlaw life and start over. The movie is starred by Lily James, Kevin Spacey, Jon Bernthal, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Ansel Elgort, Eiza González, Sky Ferreira and Flea.

An Edgar Wright movie without Simon Pegg and Nick Frost sounds like an incomplete puzzle, although in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) the experience was more than positive. We will have to wait until the summer when the film comes out to theatres to see the final result. So far, it looks promising.
