Tony Todd is one of those big names in horror. With over 200 credits, he is better known for his title role in the Candyman saga, he has also participated, mostly in epic supporting roles, in fan-favorite titles like Platoon (1986), Bird (1988), Night of the Living Dead (1990), The Crow (1994), The Rock (1996), Wishmaster (1997), The Prophecy: Forsaken (2005), The Man from Earth (2007), and the Hatchet and Final Destination franchise. His latest work to date is the horror thriller Devilreaux (2023).

The movie centers on a series of murders in the 1800s to be avenged by forbidden voodoo woken up accidentally by a group of teenagers. After several thrill-seeking teens go missing, Detective Bobbie Briggs investigates the lone survivor and her incredible tale of Devilreaux, an undead, shovel-wielding monster seeking revenge for murders committed long ago. Now, Briggs must visit the legend’s abandoned farmhouse to confront Devilreaux himself – and try to survive his vengeful, razor-sharp shovel.

Together with Tony Todd, Vincent M. Ward, Jon Briddell, Krista Grotte Saxon, Ben Stobber, Monaye Moyes, Jessamine Kelley, Meghan Carrasquillo, Jackie Quinones, and Jaida-Iman Benjamin also star.

This is the new work of the prolific horror and action filmmaker Thomas J. Churchill known for the b-movies The Amityville Harvest (2020), Big Freaking Rat (2020), The Amityville Moon (2021), and Amityville Uprising (2022). Vincent M. Ward, who plays the title character Devilreaux, is the co-writer of the screenplay.

Produced by VTW Productions and Church Hill Productions and distributed by Lionsgate Home Entertainment, Devilreaux (2023) is Rated R for bloody violence. After a limited theatrical release on June 9, 2023, the movie is coming out on DVD and streaming platforms on June 23, 2023. Watch the official trailer here.
