Trick is an upcoming horror movie placed in the Halloween night that is currently in the filming process. Patrick Lussier, known for being one of the writers of Terminator Genisys (2015), as well as the director of several popular horror films like The Prophecy 3: The Ascent (2000), Dracula 2000 (2000), Dracula II: Ascension (2003), Dracula III: Legacy (2005), White Noise 2: The Light (2007), My Bloody Valentine (2009) and Drive Angry (2011), is set to direct. The screenplay has been co-written with the director together with his frequent collaborator in his latest works Todd Farmer, who also signed the scripts for Jason X (2001) and The Messengers (2007).
According to Bloody-Disgusting, veteran horror actor Tom Atkins has joined the cast of Trick. Atkins is a very popular face for the lovers of the genre thanks to his roles in movies like The Fog (1980), The Ninth Configuration (1980), Escape from New York (1981), Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982), Night of the Creeps (1986), Maniac Cop (1988), Two Evil Eyes (1990) or Bruiser (2000). This is not the first time he works with director Patrick Lussier, since he was also part of the cast of My Bloody Valentine (2009) and Drive Angry (2011). Other confirmed actors in Trick are Omar Epps, Ellen Adair, Kristina Reyes and Vanessa Aspillaga.
The story of Trick centers on an elusive serial killer who descends upon a small town annually. Detective Mike Denver, the star of the movie, is a man obsessed with that murderer after he has eluded him for years. Sheriff Lisa Jayne is the sheriff in the small town of Benton, who has always considered Detective Denver as her mentor. They will team-up with Cheryl Winston, the only survivor of the latest round of killings perpetrated by Trick in the punished town.
In a conversation with the filmmakers about the origin of the evil character they revealed “he is responsible for gruesome murders year after year, each seemingly unrelated. No one believes this could be the same killer. Detective Denver has faced Trick once before, having shot and killed him. Or so everyone keeps telling him. However, Denver knows Trick is still out there, and he’s coming back for revenge”.
