After TIFF, "Marrowbone" will be screened at Sitges2017

Marrowbone (2017) is the debut in a feature film of Sergio G. Sánchez, a frequent collaborator of J.A. Bayona for whom he wrote his first 2 movies, The Orphanage (2007) and The Impossible (2012). With these references, it is fair to assume his first movie as a director would swim in the waters of creepy drama horror thriller.

In1969, a British woman and her four children arrive in the American town of Marrowbone with the hope of starting a brand new life. When their mother dies, the youths secretly bury her and begin to seal themselves off from the world, haunted by a threatening and sinister presence.

Marrowbone (2017) is a Spanish production but filmed in English language and with an international cast headed by the always impressive Anya Taylor-Joy. With her, Charlie Heaton, George MacKay, Mia Goth, Kyle Soller, Tom Fisher, Tom Fisher, Matthew Stagg and Nicola Harrison star. J.A. Bayona himself, alongside Lions Gate International, produce the film.

The movie had its international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and the 8th of October it will have the European premiere at the Sitges Film Festival. Check out the new official trailer for the movie here:
