The smallest and laziest mammal becomes a sadist killer in the horror-comedy "Slotherhouse"

Yeah, yeah, look at the image accompanying this text. Cute, right? That’s what those sorority girls thought and now they are DEAD! No one is going to make fun of sloths anymore. Things have changed… forever.

Or maybe I’m aiming too high? It’s nothing but a cute little harmless sloth, isn’t it?

Slotherhouse (2023) (my 10 points go to whoever came out with that name) is a horror and thriller comedy centering on sorority sister Emily Young who is in her senior year of college and, for the first time ever, Sigma Lambda Theta is having elections for who will be president. Wanting to have a killer year, Emily Young realizes she might just be the best option for her sorority. While beginning her campaign, she finds an adorable sloth that steals her heart and soon realizes she just might steal the hearts, and votes, of her sorority sisters. But when bodies slowly begin to pile up in the Sigma Lambda Theta house, Emily and her sorority sisters realize the deaths are being caused by their new house mascot, the cuddly sloth Alpha. Will Emily and her sisters escape the house with their lives? Or is this death-sloth with 3 razor-sharp claws too quick for them?

Matthew Goodhue, who was the winner of several awards with his debut feature film the horror and mystery thriller Woe (2020), returns at the director’s chair with Slotherhouse (2023). The actors and writers Bradley Fowler and Cady Lanigan, both having a small role in the film, are the authors of the screenplay.

The main cast is formed by Lisa Ambalavanar, Stefan Kapicic, Sydney Craven, Olivia Rouyre, Tiana Upcheva, Grace Patterson, Kelly Lynn Reiter, Tiff Stevenson, Sutter Nolan, Andrew Horton, Fernando Duran, and Milica Vrzic.

Slotherhouse (2023) is Rated PG-13 for violence, bloody images, and language. Gravitas Ventures has the distribution rights and is releasing the movie on August 30, 2023, in selected theaters around the USA. You can check out the schedules and theaters on the movie’s official website.
