Anurag Kashyap gained a lot of prestige by being one of the producers of the drama and romance hit movie The Lunchbox (2013), nominated for the BAFTA Awards in 2015 for Best Film Not in the English Language and winner of a long list of awards. His most recent effort, the crime action thriller Kennedy (2023), has had the privilege of having a world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
The movie centers on the title character, an insomniac ex-Cop long thought to be dead who still operates for the corrupt system while looking for redemption.
Rahul Bhat plays the main character in a cast that also includes Sunny Leone, Megha Burman, Jeniffer Piccinato, and Abhilash Thapliyal.
Anurag Kashyap, who is also known for being behind a long list of titles including Last Train to Mahakali (1999), Black Friday (2004), No Smoking (2007), That Girl in Yellow Boots (2010), Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), Ugly (2013), Bombay Velvet (2015), and Psycho Raman (2016), is the director, producer, and co-writer of Kennedy (2023).
After its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 24, 2023, the movie is scheduled for being part of the Sydney Film Festival on June 14, 2023, and further festivals to be announced.
