The horrors of surviving a torpedoed ship in "Blood Vessel"

“The horrors of war”, a sentence we have heard many times. But, sometimes, those horrors, the massacred lives for actual no worth reason, only wrong politics, can hide something even worse in the minds of horror filmmakers. Like it happened with Overlord (2018) two years ago, now the horrors of war reside in Blood Vessel (2019).

Somewhere in the North Atlantic, late 1945. A life raft adrift at sea, and in it, the survivors of a torpedoed hospital ship: With no food, water, or shelter, all seems lost – until an abandoned German minesweeper drifts ominously towards them, giving them one last chance at survival.

Justin Dix, a Special Effects artist whose first steps in the movies industry as a droid unit technician in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005), and later debuted as a writer, producer, and director with Crawlspace (2012), is behind Blood Vessel (2019). He has also been the author of the screenplay together with Jordan Prosser. Nathan Phillips, Alyssa Sutherland, Robert Taylor, Christopher Kirby, Alex Cooke, Mark Diaco, John Lloyd Fillingham, Troy Larkin, Vivienne Perry, Ruby Isobel Hall, Steve Young, and Jacinta Stapleton form the main cast.

Blood Vessel (2019) has been part of several film festivals since 2019 like FilmQuest, Grimmfest, Monster Fest Melbourne, NYC Horror Film Festival, and Nevermore Film Festival where it has achieved several awards and nominations. Now, the movie is available on DVD & Blu-ray and Video on Demand. Here you can watch its official trailer.
