The ironies of destiny. If before we were talking about the release of the horror and mystery movie The Harbinger (2022), directed by Will Klipstine, now we have in our hands another film, also a horror, with the exact same title, but that has no relation whatsoever with the previously mentioned. This movie here is a tale of friendship in the complicated times of the COVID-19 pandemic and its lockdowns, which becomes a nightmare for the protagonists.
When her oldest friend is plagued by horrific nightmares from the beyond, Monique is forced to travel to NYC. On the first night of the visit, Monique learns that dreams are contagious, and so is the HARBINGER, the plague mask-wearing demon who not only feeds on its victims’ souls but warps reality itself to remove any trace of their existence.
This is the new work of producer, writer, and director Andy Mitton after the horror-oriented titles The Witch in the Window (2018), We Go On (2016), YellowBrickRoad (2010), and the segment “Listen” in the horror anthology Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear (2013).
The main cast for The Harbinger (2022) is formed by Gabby Beans, Emily Davis, Raymond Anthony Thomas, Laura Heisler, Stephanie Roth Haberle, and Jay Dunn.
The movie is in its festival run and it has already participated in Fantasia International Film Festival and FrightFest where it has got a positive welcome. XYZ Films has the distribution rights but no official release date has been disclosed.
