It appeared without making a lot of sounds, but soon it became one of the most notorious horror surprises of the last years. A Quiet Place (2018) was a simple movie set in a post-apocalyptic world where a family is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing. The movie was a big success both financially and with the audience and critics, and the sequel was soon announced. Now, the wait is almost over, because A Quiet Place Part II (2020) is coming out this month.
The movie takes off after the events of the first one, where the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
John Krasinski repeats as the director of the film. This time, he is the sole author of the screenplay, based on the story by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck. Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, and John Krasinski reprise their roles as the Abbott family, with the cast additions of Cillian Murphy, Djimon Hounsou, Lauren-Ashley Cristiano, Zachary Golinger, and Blake DeLong.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020) had its world premiere at the Lincoln Center in New York City on March 8, 2020. The original release plans were scheduled for March 18, 2020, before it delayed the film’s release due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After a few delays, Paramount Pictures have set the final theatrical release date for May 28, 2021.
The movie is Rated PG-13 for terror, violence, and bloody/disturbing images. Here you can watch the final trailer for A Quiet Place Part II (2020).
