A road trip with your friends or your couple through the endless freeways of North America sounds like one stonishing trip to do. Arid but splendid landscapes, picturesque gas stations with their even more picturesque clerks, trying to catch the local radio stations gut mostly getting static noise since we are in the middle of nowhere… That sounds like a magical trip unless you are in a movie because then it turns into a nightmare. And that is what happens in horror and thriller The Fearway (2023).
In the movie, a young couple embarks on what should be a fun road trip for lovers, but their plans are derailed when a mysterious being begins to follow them. After relentless harassment and abuse, they desperately seek help from anyone they can.
This is the debut feature film of Robert Gajic, a filmmaker who has a previous career as a film editor having worked in the delicious comedy drama Lucky (2017) starring Harry Dean Stanton and David Lynch, and the horrors Once Upon a Time at Christmas (2017) and The Nights Before Christmas (2019). The screenplay has been written by Noah Bessey, also debuting in a feature film.
The main cast in The Fearway (2023) is formed by Jessica Gray, Justin Gordon, Simon Phillips, John D. Hickman, Eileen Dietz, and Shannon Dalonzo.
The movie is coming out on digital on February 7, 2023, by Reel 2 Reel Films.
