"The Deeper You Dig": A new jewel of independent horror cinema

A new perspective of “family cinema”. Both artistic and life partners, Toby Poser and John Adams have made several films completely on their own, in collaboration with their daughters Lulu and Zelda. Their initiatives have been very well received around the festival circuit, picking up several awards. Their filmography includes Rumblestrips (2013), The Shoot (2014), Knuckle Jack (2014), and Halfway to Zen (2016), and since last year it is enlarged with horror drama The Deeper You Dig (2019).

In the movie, Ivy, a medium who has lost her touch, and her teenage daughter Echo live together in a rural area. Kurt, their taciturn new neighbor, accidentally kills the girl and tries to conceal the evidence. But Echo’s ghost demands justice and will try to communicate with her mother from beyond.

Like the rest of their works, The Deeper You Dig (2019) has been produced, edited, filmed, written, and directed by Toby Poser and John Adams, who also play the main roles together with their daughter Zelda Adams. Shawn Wilson, Joan Poser, Izzy Figueredo, and Inderpreet Singh Khangura are also part of the cast.

The Deeper You Dig (2019) has been part of several film festivals including Fantasia International Film Festival, where it had its world premiere, FrightFest, Fantastic Fest, Sitges Film Festival, and Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival along the last year 2019. The movie is available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and on-demand since October 5, 2020. Here you can watch its trailer.
