Chris Skotchdopole, the producer of independent films like Darling (2015), Like Me (2017), The Ranger (2018), Only a Switch (2018), and Depraved (2019) [read our review here] is debuting as the director of a feature film with the dark comedy and thriller Crumb Catcher (2023).
The movie tells the story of a newlywed couple that is held captive in a remote lake house by a maniacally optimistic inventor and his sour wife who are desperate to finance his dream project with a half-baked blackmail plot.
Chris Skotchdopole is also the producer and writer with his frequent collaborators Larry Fessenden (We Are Still Here (2015), Jakob’s Wife (2021)) and Rigo Garay (The Leech (2022), Blackout (2023)) as co-writers.
The co-writer Rigo Garay is the star of the film in a cast that includes Ella Rae Peck, John Speredakos, Lorraine Farris, Rebecca Watson, Eddie Castillo, David Macke, and Kyle Mumford.
Produced by Glass Eye Pix and Gigantic Pictures, and with Submarine Entertainment as the sales representatives, Crumb Catcher (2023) is having its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 24, 2023, and will be part of the Woodstock Film Festival on September 30, 2023.
