The Room (2003) was a strange movie and it had a strange run. Categorized by many as one of the worst movies ever made, it achieved a cult status which increased even more with James Franco’s biography film The Disaster Artist (2017) portraying the inception of what has been called “the Citizen Kane of bad movies”. Tommy Wiseau was the writer, director and main star in The Room (2003), and now he is back with a new film. This time it is a sharks horror film.
As couldn’t be different, Tommy Wiseau produces, directs and also stars Big Shark (2019), a movie about three firefighters must save New Orleans from a shark attack. Greg Sestero, Wiseau’s inseparable movies pal, and Isaiah LaBorde are also starring. And a first official has reached the internet via the official YouTube channel of the filmmaker.
In only one minute of the trailer, we can figure out what the audience is going to witness in Big Shark (2019). Besides the huge squalls, obviously. Tommy Wiseau and his pals play the group of friends Patrick, Georgie and Tim, three lowlives losers that must become the heroes of the story. And that is what I get from the trailer because not much info has been revealed from what is allegedly already rumored to be one of the worst movies of the year. But still, will it be as funny and reach again the cult status as The Room (2003) did? Well, we will have to wait to see. But, so far, from the standpoint plot and the trailer, it looks promising and it’s one of the movies on my list to see this current year. No doubt about that.
The production status of Big Shark (2019) is unknown, but it has already been announced that it will have its world premiere in September in Prince Charles Cinema, London. Check out the trailer and decide, is this going to be one of your titles to watch this year? Yes? No? I honestly never thought of that? The best of bad acting is calling me again.
