What an irresponsible thing to do is to play with supernatural forces, whether you believe in them or not. And the protagonists of Talk to Me (2022) find out about this in the hard and scary way.

The movie centers on a group of friends who discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand. They become hooked on the new thrill until one of them goes too far and opens the door to the spirit world forcing them to choose who to trust: the dead or the living. It was all fun and games until one person suffering from grief and unsolved trauma is looking for more.

This is the debut feature film of Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou after a few short films and web series. Both of them have a trainee background as part of the crew in the films Touch (2014) and The Babadook (2014). Bill Hinzman is the co-writer of the screenplay based on a concept by Daley Pearson.

Talk to Me (2022) is Rated R for strong/bloody violent content, some sexual material, and language throughout.

Sophie Wilde, Joe Bird, Alexandra Jensen, Otis Dhanji, Miranda Otto, Marcus Johnson, Alexandria Steffensen, Zoe Terakes, and Chris Alosio form the main cast.

Talk to Me (2022) has had a wide festival run since its premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival in its original Australia on October 30, 2022, that included Sundance Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, South by Southwest Film Festival, Fantasy Filmfest, and Fantasia Festival. With A24 distributing, the film is opening on July 28, 2023. Watch its official trailer.
