Take a look at "Annihilation", the new film from "Ex Machina"'s director

Recently the first teaser trailer for Annihilation (2018), the long-awaited new film by Alex Garland, came to light. Garland is known for being the author of the scripts of some of the most interesting horror and science fiction titles of the last years, like 28 Days Later… (2002), Sunshine (2007) or Dredd (2012), but overall for his debut film as a director Ex Machina (2014). For his second movie to direct, he has chosen to adapt the novel by Jeff VanderMeer Annihilation, published in 2014 as part of the author’s Southern Reach Trilogy. In it, a biologist’s husband disappears. She puts her name forward for an expedition into an environmental disaster zone but does not quite find what she’s expecting. The expedition team is made up of the biologist, an anthropologist, a psychologist, a surveyor, and a linguist.

In 2014, Paramount Pictures acquired rights to the novel. Location filming by Lighthouse Pictures Ltd occurred starting in late April in London. The movie is starred by Oscar Isaac, who already appeared in Ex Machina (2014) as the creator of the A.I. creature. With him, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez and Tessa Thompson complete the main cast for the film.

Filming ended this summer and now we can take a first look at what for sure can be one of the most interesting fantasy thrillers of next year. So if you are as curious as I am right now, check it out here:
