Wake Up (2018) is the debut feature film of actor, writer, producer and director Joe W Nowland. The movie centers a psychiatric doctor who is researching a young girl’s diary to find out why she murdered her entire family. But soon he begins to fall into the same state of insomnia and confusion that led her to lose her mind.
Written and directed by Joe W Nowland, who also saves a role for himself in the cast, the movie appears to be an interesting hybrid between a dark mystery genre title with doses of horror, and an unresolved crime puzzle. The movie also features Traci L. Newman, Tatiana Warden, Emre Orun, Ray Dwyer Jr., Scott Broughton, Kelly Frances Fischer and Gregory Dean Tompkins.
Originally called Do Not Read, the title changed on its last steps of production into Wake Up (2018). This month the movie had its Director’s Premiere on November 17th at New Vision Theater Fleming Island 12 (more info is available on its official website) where it received a warm welcoming. And now it is having a limited run on selected theaters until February next year.
Wake Up (2018) is produced by Hawk9 Productions and Sunset Studios. You can watch its official trailer here.
