Searching (2018) was the debut film of writer and director Aneesh Chaganty, a modest although very well built mystery thriller about a concerned father whose 16-year-old daughter goes missing, and he breaks into her laptop to look for clues to find her. The movie achieved a collection of good reviews and even won Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize and Audience Award at Sundance Film Festival 2018. Now, the director is back with his new film, the horror thriller Run (2020).
Run (2020) tells the story of a homeschooled teenager who begins to suspect her mother is keeping a dark secret from her. Like the previous movie, it’s been directed by Aneesh Chaganty who has also the writer of the screenplay again together with Sev Ohanian, who also is one of the producers.
Sarah Paulson, known for Glass (2019), Bird Box (2018), and the American Horror Story (2011– ) TV series, plays the mother, while the debutant in a feature film Kiera Allen is the daughter. Together with them, Onalee Ames, Pat Healy, Carter Heintz, Clark Webster, Conan Hodgkinson, Erik Athavale, and Bradley Sawatzky complete the main cast.
Lionsgate has been in charge of the production of the movie. The release is still unknown because of the chaotic situation due to the Coronavirus outbreak, but the movie is already completed and it should come out sometime in 2020. Watch here the official trailer for Run (2020).
