If there is something we all horror fans have is a total devotion for Giallo movies. And although that style remains in the past, we can’t help but get goosebumps every time a new Italian horror movie is out. Especially if it is entitled A Classic Horror Story (2021) and is advertised with the headline “A camper. A car crash. An abandoned house. Children’s music in the background. Think you’ve seen it before? Look again“. Is it going to be as good as they pretend to make us believe? We will be waiting impatiently for its release to find out!
A Classic Horror Story (2021) centers on five carpoolers who travel in a motorhome to reach a common destination. Night falls, and to avoid a dead animal carcass, they crash into a tree. When they come to their senses, they find themselves in the middle of nowhere. The road they were traveling on has disappeared and there is only a dense, impenetrable forest and a wooden house in the middle of a clearing, which they discover is the home of a spine-chilling cult.
The movie has been directed by Roberto De Feo, responsible for the horror mystery The Nest (2019), together with Paolo Strippoli. The two co-directors are also authors of the screenplay with Lucio Besana, Milo Tissone, and David Bellini.
Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz, known for being the star in the very recommendable rape-horror-survival Revenge (2017) and the entry in the popular horror saga Rings (2017), is the star in A Classic Horror Story (2021). With her, Francesco Russo, Peppino Mazzotta, Will Merrick, Yuliia Sobol,, Alida Baldari Calabria, and Cristina Donadio also star.
A Classic Horror Story (2021) was part of the Taormina Film Festival on July 1, 2021, where it had a very positive welcome. After that, it is scheduled to be part of the Netflix catalog on July 14, 2021. Here you can watch its official trailer.
