Spanish horror anthology "Vampus Horror Tales" is out tomorrow

Sorry for the silly joke, I had to do it. If the Krampus season also called Christmas is over, now that we are one day away from St Valentine’s I guess we can say it’s the Vampus season? Or should it be Valentinus? Bah, forget it, it went way worse than I expected. Let’s focus on what matters.

Vampus Horror Tales (2020) is a Spanish horror anthology film in which segments are set on Halloween night. Vampus, a gravedigger and body snatcher, is the guardian of the cemetery, a sinister being who has many secrets. He loves to read horror comics and introduces us to four twisted tales of love, murder, and assorted horrific acts.

Each segment is directed by a different first-time filmmaker and it features the works of Isaac Berrocal, Erika Elizalde, Manuel Martínez Velasco, Víctor Matellano, and Piter Moreira.

The main cast in Vampus Horror Tales (2020) includes Saturnino García, Nacho Guerreros, Félix Gómez, Elena Furiase, Erika Sanz, Montse Plá, Diego Arjona, Dunia Rodríguez, Federico Repetto, Vicky Jorge, Lone Fleming, and Carlos Areces.

The movie had a preview at the Sitges Film Festival in 2020, and it was also part of the line-ups at the Zaragoza Film Festival and Isla Calavera Film Festival. After a limited theatrical release in some cities in Spain in 2020, the movie is now scheduled for a digital release by Uncork’d Entertainment on February 14, 2023.
