Something lurks in the dark of the woods. Take a look at post-pandemic thriller "Old Strangers"

What a bunch of crazy years we are living. A weird new virus that seems to be threading our existence, that mutates in many variants and has altered our lives in a way we wouldn’t have expected. And the authorities have no idea of what they are doing, all they do is impose a series of dumb measures that make no difference at all. And, in between, a group of people stands proud against the vaccines developed to slow down the spreading and effects of the virus. It already sounds like a science-fiction story, but it is real life. Well, what can I say that everybody reading this doesn’t know already?

So the entertainment industry, which has been so damaged by the repercussions of the pandemic, will take advantage of the new normality and the past two crazy years we’ve lived to use it for new stories. This is the case of Old Strangers (2022), a post-pandemic thriller about three friends reconnecting in a secluded mountain town after a long quarantine. While out for a hike, the trio stumbles upon something dark and terrible in the deep woods.

Sarah, Michael, and Danny try to rekindle the spark of their youth only to be confronted with the harsh realities of their relationships. Just beyond their reunion, in the deep woods, there is something otherworldly growing and feeding on their pain.

This is the new movie from writer, producer, and director Nick Gregorio, after the comedies Green (2010) and Happy Birthday, Harris Malden (2008). The cast is formed by Madeleine Humphries, Ted Evans, and Colton Eschief Mastro.

This thriller with a science-fiction background is scheduled for a digital release on January 11, 2022, by Gravitas Ventures.
