This year the TV-spot movie teasers were Eddie Murphy’s Coming 2 America (2021), Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021) TV Mini-Series, Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon (2021), action-crime Nobody (2021), the new installment in the Fast and Furious franchise F9 (2021), and the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan’s mystery-thriller Old (2021). So let’s center on the latest.

According to the official plot summary shared by Universal Pictures, distributors of the movie, Old (2021) is a chilling, mysterious thriller about a family on a tropical holiday who discover that the secluded beach where they are relaxing for a few hours is somehow causing them to age rapidly, reducing their entire lives into a single day.

The movie is written, directed, and produced by M. Night Shyamalan, that after being the creator of the essential films in modern mystery, fantasy, and horror The Sixth Sense (1999), Unbreakable (2000), Signs (2002), The Village (2004), Lady in the Water (2006), The Happening (2008), The Visit (2015), Split (2016), and Glass (2019) he needs no introduction. It is inspired by the graphic novel Sandcastle by Pierre Oscar Levy and Frederik Peeters.

Rufus Sewell, Thomasin McKenzie, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Abbey Lee, Alex Wolff, Gael García Bernal, Ken Leung, Vicky Krieps, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Emun Elliott, and Kathleen Chalfant form the main cast.

Filming for Old (2021) began on September 26, 2020, in the Dominican Republic, and concluded on November 15, 2020. The film is scheduled to be released on July 23, 2021.
