Secrets and lies: Psychological thriller "Help" is out next week

In a bigger or lower dimension, everybody has secrets. We all tell little lies in order to get out of unwanted situations and have aspects in our lives we don’t feel comfortable opening up to others. It is normal, isn’t it? Although, sometimes, those secrets can be really fucked up things and become the sources of real harm.

In the British psychological thriller Help (2021), a painful breakup prompts Grace to visit her friend Liv who is living in the idyllic English countryside with her boyfriend Edward and his dog Polly. The trio starts the weekend in high spirits but soon turns into chaos, as well-kept secrets are exposed and the friends come to see each other in a whole new light.

This is the debut feature film of China-born British writer and director Blake Ridder after a big collection of short films that included the awards-winners Bad News (2020), Santa for Hire (2020), A Simple Robbery (2020), Psychosis (2021), and My Dead Husband (2021).
