And when everybody thought John Kramer, the infamous Jigsaw murderer, abandoned the world of the living, the new entry of the Saw saga hits us in the face.
Saw X (2023) is called to be the most chilling installment of the Saw franchise and it explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw‘s most personal game. Set between the events of Saw (2004) and Saw II (2005), a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps.
Tobin Bell is again John Kramer and Shawnee Smith reprises her role of Amanda that she played in Saw (2004), Saw II (2005), Saw III (2006), and Saw VI (2009). Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, Renata Vaca, Joshua Okamoto, Octavio Hinojosa, Paulette Hernandez, Jorge Briseño, Costas Mandylor, and Michael Beach complete the main cast.
Kevin Greutert, who was the director of Saw VI (2009) and Saw 3D (2010), as well as Jessabelle (2014), Visions (2015), and Jackals (2017), is the director of Saw X (2023). Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, the writers of Sorority Row (2009), Piranha 3D (2010), Piranha 3DD (2012), Jigsaw (2017), Kappa Kappa Die (2020), and Spiral (2021), are the authors of the screenplay.
Saw X (2023) is Rated R for sequences of grisly bloody violence and torture, language, and some drug use. Lionsgate has the distribution rights for the movie and is releasing it worldwide on September 29, 2023. A few hours ago they released a promotional clip entitled “Get it Together” starring Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith.
