Are you in the mood for a mysterious horror thriller that can play with your mind and make you wonder if you crossed the line between reality and fantasy? Maybe you could take a look at Sanzaru (2020).

The movie centers on a shy Filipina nurse who is hired by an elderly woman declining into dementia. The walls between this world and the next crumble as she uncovers her employer’s shocking family secret, a fragile home health aide begins to question her own sanity.

This is the debut feature film of writer and director Xia Magnus, who got some recognition with his awards-winner short film Round River (2015). Aina Dumlao, Justin Arnold, Matthew Albrecht, Jon Viktor Corpuz, Tomorrow Shea, and Jayne Taini form the main cast.

Since its premiere in January 2020, Sanzaru (2020) has collected a few awards and nominations in international film festivals like Slamdance Film Festival, MOTELX – Lisbon International Horror Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival, Bushwick Film Festival, and Imagine Film Festival. The film is available on several digital platforms including Amazon Prime, iTunes, and Google Play.
