The Firefly family is back! It was rumored for months that the next movie by filmmaker and musician Rob Zombie would get involved into would be a follow-up of his first 2 films House of 1000 Corpses (2003) and The Devil’s Rejects (2005). Now, thanks to an Instagram post by official Rob Zombie’s account https://www.instagram.com/robzombieofficial it’s been confirmed that Tuesday the 13th of March was Day One shooting of Three From Hell. Because, yes, this is the final title of the movie.
The latest news we got from Rob Zombie is that he was going to enroll in an American tour together with Marilyn Manson, a tour called Twins of Evil, along July and August this year. First suspictions said a new movie might be on hold until the end of the touring summer, but facts have proved that wrong.
As the Instagram post mentions, the Firefly family members will be played again by Sid Haig, Bill Moseley and Sheri Moon Zombie. That means we will have the joy to see Captain Spaulding, Otis Driftwood and Baby Firefly committing atrocious crimes again! That’s good news, people!
In House of 1000 Corpses (2003), two young couples traveling across the backwoods of Texas searching for urban legends of murder end up as prisoners of a bizarre and sadistic backwater family of serial killers, the Fireflies. In Devil’s Rejects (2005), the police under the command of Sheriff Wydell attack the house of the sadistic serial killers Firefly and they arrest mother Firefly, but Otis B. Driftwood and Baby Firefly escape from the siege. Otis and Baby call their patriarch, the mad clown Captain Spaulding and they meet at an isolated motel in the desert. From there, a madness of kidnapping, murdering and torturing starts, with the sadistic Sheriff Wydell seeking revenge chasing the family.
