After seeing the promotional poster for the action and horror Headless Horseman (2022), one could think The Asylum made their own take on Ghost Rider (2007) and Sleepy Hollow: The Headless Horseman (1999). And, although those references are undoubtfully there, the story perhaps has more of the myth of Faust, the man who makes a pact with the Devil exchanging his soul for unlimited knowledge and worldly pleasures.
The movie follows a nearly decapitated and desperate man who seconds from his death makes a deal with the devil to protect the love of his life and seek revenge on the drug dealer who almost murdered him.
This is the new movie written and directed by filmmaker Jose Prendes, after the Ed Wood documentary Unspeakable Horrors: The Plan 9 Conspiracy (2016) and the horror films The Monster Man (2001), Corpses Are Forever (2004), The Haunting of Whaley House (2012), and Blood Brothers (2015). He was also one of the writers of the story of The Legend of La Llorona (2022).
The main cast in Headless Horseman (2022) is formed by Nic Caruccio, Amanda Jones, Ethan Daniel Corbett, Sean Whalen, Michael Paré, Kate Hodge, and Jonathan Huynh-Mast.
The movie is coming out on the usual The Asylum distribution channels on October 14, 2022.
