“Residents of Arcadia”: The countdown for their perfect life has already started

Residents of Arcadia (2021) is a science-fiction thriller following two successful online influencers who are confronted with the appearance of a mysterious countdown on their mirrors, that threatens to reveal what’s behind their apparently perfect life.

In the movie, Steve and Anika are two social media Influencers and entrepreneurs, who are living an accomplished and ideal life. One night, a man breaks into their backyard, disrupting the peaceful life they had created. The ensuing fear culminates with the appearance of a mysterious countdown on screens and mirrors throughout their home. As the countdown approaches zero, it reveals the true nature of what is hiding behind their perfect lives.

This is the debut feature film of writer, producer, and director Italy-born filmmaker Dom Cutrupi, after being behind a few short films and the screenplay for First House on the Hill (2017).

The main cast in Residents of Arcadia (2021) is formed by Nick Preston, Kamantha Naidoo, Ishaval Gill, Michael Stephen Perry, Stella Lai, Magalie R-Bazinet, Leslie Kwan, Claudia Absi, Mostafa Shaker, and Jeremy Xu.

The movie had its Canadian premiere at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival on November 8, 2021, followed by its USA premiere at the Other Worlds Film Festival on December 5, 2021. Now, the movie will have a digital release on November 11, 2022, by Cranked Up Films.
