As you may already know, the newest installment of the series that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) started many decades ago, entitled Leatherface (2017), is not an actual sequel but a prequel. It tells the story about teenage Leatherface who escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.
Recently, a red band trailer for the movie has been released, together with its official poster. The movie has been written by Seth M. Sherwood and directed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo. Stephen Dorff, Lili Taylor, Sam Strike, Sam Coleman and Vanessa Grasse among others star. It will be distributed by Lionsgate on the regular Video on Demand channels premiering the 21st of September.
