What Josiah Saw (2021) is a psychological horror and thriller about a family with buried secrets who reunite at a farmhouse after two decades to pay for their past sins.
The movie follows Josiah and his youngest son, Thomas, who are all that remain of this estranged family. But after experiencing terrifying visions from beyond, Josiah decides they must change their ways to right a great wrong. After being away for over two decades, Eli and Mary, Josiah’s eldest children, are enticed to sell the property and reunite at the old farmhouse in hopes of closing this haunting chapter of their lives for good. Sins of the past will be paid in full.
This is the new feature film from awards-winner filmmaker Vincent Grashaw after the dramas Coldwater (2013) and And Then I Go (2017). Robert Alan Dilts has been responsible for the screenplay.
The main cast is led by Robert Patrick, always attached to his role of the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) but also very prolific in horror and thriller films including Cop Land (1997), The Faculty (1998), From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999), Autopsy (2008), Safe House (2012), Tone-Deaf (2019), and the From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (2014–2016) TV series. Nick Stahl, Scott Haze, Kelli Garner, Tony Hale, Jake Weber, Ronnie Gene Blevins, and Troy Powell also star.
Nominated and winner of several awards in 2021 and 2022, What Josiah Saw (2021) has taken part in many international festivals including Fantasia International Film Festival, Sidewalk Film Festival, Mammoth Lakes Film Festival, Heartland Film Festival, Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, Screamfest Horror Film Festival, Shivers Film Festival, Splat!FilmFest, Torino Film Festival, Night Visions International Film Festival, Fantastic Film Festival Australia, Fantaspoa International Film Festival, Calgary Underground Film Festival, Dark Bridges Film Festival, BiFan – Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, and Macabro Mexico City International Horror Film Festival. Now, Shudder has scheduled it for a release as part of its online catalog on August 4, 2022.
