Psychological horror “Metamorphosis” is available on Amazon Video

Metamorphosis (2022) is one of those small independent and small-crew films that were developed during the COVID-19 pandemic. With an estimated budget of just $350,000, the film was shot in just 4 weeks with some scenes being filmed during 2 weeks of quarantine on the island with only one actor, the director, the DP, and the producer.

The movie centers on a married couple’s final attempt to salvage their failing relationship. Seeking refuge on an island in Upstate New York, it all takes a turn for the worse when the husband begins to regress emotionally, mentally, and physically.

This is the debut feature film of the producer, writer, and director Alex Smoot after the science-fiction short film Redemption (2020).

The main cast is formed by Gil McKinney, known for the TV series Once Upon a Time (2011–2018) and Supernatural (2005–2020), and Natasha Krishnanm who has appeared in Clarice (2021– ) and Percy Vs Goliath (2020).
