"Ouija Shark 2" is out today. Did we need this sequel?

A couple of years ago we witness the release of Ouija Shark (2020) where a group of teenage girls summon an ancient man-eating shark after messing with a spirit board that washes up on the beach. An occult specialist must enter the shark’s realm to rid this world of the deadly spirit ghost once and for all.

In the first movie, John Migliore, who has been credited as a zombie in many horror titles like Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004), Land of the Dead (2005), Survival of the Dead (2009), Zombie Apocalypse: Redemption (2011), or Detention of the Dead (2012), had a supporting role and was the co-writer of the story. But in the sequel Ouija Shark 2 (2022) he is the full-time protagonist.

The sequel follows up where the first movie ended. When the Ouija Shark emerges from Hell to cause havoc once more on Earth, a sorcerer with a history of fighting the ghostly great white must follow it into a multiverse hellscape for one final battle. But this time he is bringing along some friends to help send the shark into oblivion.

John Migliore is the writer and director of Ouija Shark 2 (2022), and he reserved the protagonist role for himself. This is not the first time he is behind the cameras, as he’s also been the director of The Friday Night Death Slot (2015), Poltergeist Encounters (2016), Exorcism of the Dead (2017), and Creature from Cannibal Creek (2019).

Deborah Jayne Reilly Smith, Kylie Gough, Simon Wheeldon, Lena Montecalvo, Jay MacAulay, Sabrina Migliore, Emmalene Pruden, Somer Bettles, and Thea Munster complete the main cast.

Ouija Shark 2 (2022) is out on digital on July 25, 2023. Watch its official trailer here.
