Although in some places in the world it already hit theatres, in most european countries next weekend will mark the day when the latest Gore Verbinski movie is coming out. A Cure for Wellness (2016) tells the story of an ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious wellness center at a remote location in the Swiss Alps but soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. The film has been recieved by mostly positive comments, and marks the return of the director to the genre of horror, a field that he didn’t exploit since his successful The Ring (2002) early this new century.
The film is written by Justin Haythe, who already wrote another Gore Verbinski film The Lone Ranger (2013), and starred by unknown names for the big audiences like Mia Goth, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie, Lisa Banes, Adrian Schiller, Susanne Wuest and Carl Lumbly amonth others.
In this official trailer we can see the delicacy, beauty and creepiness of the images, something that Gore Verbinski sure has a good hand for.
