Is this age of Coronavirus global pandemics a good moment for psychological and paranoid thrillers? I say yes, although since its a genre I love, as well as millions of other people worldwide do, let’s any moment is a good moment for those mindfuck horror movies. And Run (2020) is one of the most awaited titles in this subgenre.
Run (2020) tells the story of a homeschooled teenager who begins to suspect her mother is keeping a dark secret from her.
The movie is the new film for director Aneesh Chaganty, who after a few short films he debuted with the fans favorite and awards winner Searching (2018). In this new movie, he has also been responsible for the screenplay together with Sev Ohanian. Both of them also serve as producers for the film.
Sarah Paulson, known for Glass (2019), Bird Box (2018), and the American Horror Story (2011– ) TV series, plays the mother, while the debutant in a feature film Kiera Allen is the daughter. Together with them, Onalee Ames, Pat Healy, Carter Heintz, Clark Webster, Conan Hodgkinson, Erik Athavale, and Bradley Sawatzky complete the main cast.
Lionsgate has been in charge of the production of Run (2020). The film was scheduled to be released on May 8, 2020, coinciding with Mother’s Day weekend. However, due to the pandemic, it was pulled from the schedule. In August 2020, Hulu acquired distribution rights to the film and is scheduled to be released on November 20, 2020.
A new advertiser for Run (2020) has been published announcing the final release date, and you can watch it here.
