It was one of the biggest surprises in the past Toronto Festival, and one of the films who rapidly all the distributors fought for. But still, it’s a pretty unknown name for the big audience. The Belko Experiment (2016), written by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Super (2010)) and directed by Greg McLean (responsable of the Wolf Creek trilogy), will hit the theatres around the world early this 2017, around spring.
The creepy plot goes like “In a twisted social experiment, 80 Americans are locked in their high-rise corporate office in Bogotá, Colombia and ordered by an unknown voice coming from the company’s intercom system to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed”. The film will be starred by Tony Goldwyn, Melonie Diaz, John Gallagher Jr., and regular James Gunn collaborators Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn.
So far, it sounds like it could be one of the most interesting titles in this first half of 2017. For the moment, we can heat up the engines with the official poster and red band trailer:
