Official confirmation 3rd TWIN PEAKS season to premier on May 21th

As the rumors pointed out in the last days, Showtime will premier the new season of cult TV series Twin Peaks next Sunday the 21th of May. The new season will consist of 18 episodes and they will all be directed by original series creator David Lynch. No need to say, these are excelent news!

Laura Palmer foresaw it at the end of the second season, back in the early 1990s: “I’ll see you again in 25 years”. The new version of Twin Peaks sees original star Kyle MacLachlan return as FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper. He will be joined by several other cast members from the original series, including Lynch himself as FBI Agent Gordon Cole, as well as several new cast members. Not much we know about the plot, but it is expected to have some atrocious crime involved, surrounded by all sorts of freaky characters and the most mysterious environment.

As Showtime president David Nevins announced, “It’s really happening”. The new season will be released in a weekly television format, and immediately after the premiere, episodes 3 and 4 will also be made available on Showtime’s digital platform.

So what many of us have been waiting for over 2 decades is almost at hand. I don’t know about you, but these news are making me very excited. And what I am going to do in these months before the 3rd season is out is to rewatch the first 2 seasons and the amazing prequel film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992).
