New trailer for zombie-heist "Army of the Dead", out in May

In a little more than a month, one of the most anticipated movies of the year, Army of the Dead (2021), will hit the screens. And now that we are getting closer to the date, Netflix has released a second trailer with more spectacular images and details about the plot of the film.

We knew the movie was centering on a group of former mercenaries that team up one last time to perpetrate the goriest robbery in history, a large casino in zombie-infested Las Vegas. In the new trailer, we see how what starts as the classic heist-panning and conducting movie turns up into a rollercoaster of action, explosions, shootings, and blood-thirsty Las Vegas fauna.

Zack Snyder is back to the scenario he created 17 years ago when he adapted that James Gunn script and debuted as a director of a feature film with Dawn of the Dead (2004). Many have passed before, from being considered one of the most visionary audiovisuals creators of his generation thanks to the films 300 (2006), Watchmen (2009), and Sucker Punch (2011), to become an A-class filmmaker, equally hated and loved, responsible of the latest DC hit films Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Justice League (2017), and the recent new version Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021).

The main cast for Army of the Dead (2021) is formed by Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Michael Cassidy, Samantha Win, Theo Rossi, Nora Arnezeder, Tig Notaro, Omari Hardwick, Lora Martinez-Cunningham, Matthias Schweighöfer, Raúl Castillo, and Sarah Minnich.

The movie is produced by The Stone Quarry, Zack Snyder’s own banner. It is Rated R for strong bloody violence, gore, and language throughout, some sexual content, and brief nudity/graphic nudity. On May 21, 2021, Army of the Dead (2021) will be part of the Netflix Original catalog after its limited theatrical release early that month. Here you can watch its new official trailer.
